At its 25 August Meeting, Golden Plains Shire Council adopted three new strategies to guide its future decision making for sport and recreation, waste and resource recovery, and a local equestrian centre.
As a large council bordered by Victoria’s largest and second largest regional cities, different parts of Golden Plains Shire will again observe separate public holidays in lieu of the Melbourne Cup Public Holiday.
Golden Plains Shire residents experiencing loneliness or social disconnection will receive support through a collaboration between the Victorian Government, the Australian Red Cross and Council.
Council advises that the Special Council Meeting scheduled on Tuesday 1 September 2020 will not be held, as no public submissions were received on the Bannockburn Family Services Long Day Care Lease Proposal.
Last week, Mayor Cr Owen Sharkey announced 40 well-deserving young residents of Golden Plains Shire would be recognised with Community Impact Awards as part of the Mayoral Youth Program 2019/20.
