Golden Plains Shire Council invites residents and visitors to join us at the Bannockburn Heart, corner of Milton, Byron & High Streets, Bannockburn on Thursday 4 December from 4 to 8pm for the annual Golden Plains Twilight Market.
The Bannockburn Heart will be transformed into a bustling hub of more than 100 stallholders, featuring a variety of tasty food, fine crafts, live music, free activities, and much more. This is thanks to generous support from sponsors Beyond the Valley, GPG Naturgy Group, Ramsey Property Group and Stockdale & Leggo Bannockburn.
An extension of the popular Golden Plains Farmers’ Market, the Twilight Market will feature a variety of ready to eat foods, including a full bar where you can enjoy a chilled craft beer, local wine or cocktail. Market-goers can stock up on farm fresh goods, spices, sauces and meats for all your festive feasts, and support our growers and makers by picking up those last-minute Christmas gifts for your loved ones.
There will be live performances by Kieran Tobin and Marcus Hayden, along with free activities for the kids, such as face painting, balloon twisting, a jumping castle, animal farm, and even a surprise visit from a special guest.
This year, there’s also a dedicated youth area with a virtual reality experience, an art precinct which will include the launch of the Golden Spaces Summer Exhibition, and a sensory zone to create more inclusion for people with disability.
“The Twilight Market is a vibrant community event aimed at strengthening the local economy by providing opportunities for local growers and makers while providing customers with access to a diverse range of high-quality products and nutritional produce in a safe, fun and social environment. It’s an opportunity to create social connection and engagement and contributes to building vibrant resilient communities,” Golden Plains Shire Council Mayor Cr Sharkey said.
“Council is proud to support the local business community this festive season by encouraging residents, visitors and individuals passing through our Shire to prioritise shopping with local businesses. When you buy from local shops, you’re investing in the vibrancy of the community and the Twilight Market is the perfect place to support the local economy,” he said.
