After more than a decade of lobbying, advocacy and community action, the new Bannockburn P-12 College has opened its doors.

Young people in Golden Plains Shire will have more opportunities to actively participate in and connect with their local community through the Andrew Government’s Engage! 2018-20 program.

Some of Golden Plains’ most community-minded people for 2017 were recognised at Golden Plains Shire Council’s Australia Day Awards ceremony on Tuesday 23 January in Bannockburn.

The first Golden Plains Twilight Market attracted around 2,000 patrons on Thursday 21 December 2017.
Local community groups will open their public halls and spaces to the Golden Plains community this Australia Day, Friday 26 January.

Golden Plains Shire, City of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast Shire and the Borough of Queenscliffe and our library members demonstrated their support for those in need by donating literally ‘tonnes’ of food for the Geelong Food Relief Centre’s annual Food for Fines campaign.
