Consultation/have your say opportunities

Throughout the year, Council invites the community to have their say on Council projects, strategies, local issues and more. Opportunities include surveys, community workshops, listening posts in public spaces and more. All of Council’s consultation opportunities are listed on our Have Your Say web page and residents are encouraged to visit this page or our Facebook page, or read the Golden Plains Times or bi-monthly Gazette to stay across opportunities to have your say.

Residents can also sign up to our ‘Community Engagement register' to stay informed about engagement opportunities relevant to you, sign up to Council's Community Engagement Register.

Conversation posts

Councillors and Senior Executives make themselves available at various times throughout the year in public spaces to chat with residents and listen to what they have to say. Locations so far include local markets, football matches, halls and shopping centres across the Shire.

We now have a Shire-wide calendar of ‘Conversations with Council’ posts; find out more here. Note: not all conversation posts are attended by Councillors, but all ‘Conversation with Council’ posts are (the dates and times are listed on our Have Your Say page here).

Presentations and Questions to Council

Council welcomes members of the public to attend Council meetings and ask questions on any Council related matters. Any person may also lodge a written submission, and may also request to speak to that submission at the relevant Ordinary Meeting of Council. Refer to Meetings, Minutes and Agenda page for more information.
