Christine Couzens MP is the State Member for Geelong.Christine grew up in public housing in Corio, in the northern suburbs of Geelong.Her family didn't have a lot of money but she always felt safe and secure.And it led her to a lifetime of commitment fighting for our most vulnerable people.Christine's worked with homeless young people, assisted in the public housing sector and represented people on consumer law issues. She's stood up for people's rights at work through the union movement, where she served as President of the Geelong Trades Hall.She's also worked with former MP Ian Trezise to deliver strong outcomes in the Bracks and Brumby Governments.But nothing can compare to the honour of representing our community in the Parliament of Victoria since 2014.Christine's working every day for a stronger, fairer Geelong.And as Parliamentary Secretary for First Peoples, she's fighting for better outcomes for all Aboriginal Victorians.
