Whether you want to apply for a planning permit, find out more about zoning or get information about subdivision, Council’s Planning Department is here to help.
Council's Planning Department includes both statutory planning and strategic planning.
What is statutory planning?
Council’s Statutory Planning team consider the way land is used and developed, and how this impacts the character and liveability of Golden Plains, through the assessment of planning permits. A planning permit is a legal document that gives permission for a use, development or subdivision on a piece of land. Click here for an overview of the Statutory Planning permit process.
What is strategic planning?
Council’s Strategic Planning team consider the future of the region and prepare plans and strategies to guide how land is used and developed. Key outcomes are implemented through planning scheme amendments.
