A granitic sand footpath has been constructed on Tolloora Way, Batesford, connecting the future Batesford Play Space to Dog Rocks Road. The footpath extension is approximately 190m long and will provide a much-needed pedestrian connection back to the existing footpath network in Dog Rocks Road.

The Haddon Primary School carpark has received some important safety upgrades. The improvements included fresh line-marking and delineated pedestrian access crossings, dedicated disabled and emergency bays and new signage. In addition, the bus bay has been relocated to a more suitable location.

Grader locations

Graders are currently working through our gravel roads requests. This week, our graders are working in the following areas:

  • Wallinduc/Willowvale
  • Napoleons
  • Resheeting in Rokewood
  • Dereel

They will work through other requests in each town while there.

New street sweeper to help keep our streets clean and tidy

As our Shire grows, resulting in more movement and infrastructure in our communities, the need increases to actively keep our kerb and channel, streets and paved paths tidy for community members and visitors.

In response to this need, we now have a Compact Road and Pavement Sweeper. The Works team will use this for small township kerb and channel cleaning as well as street and car park sweeping.
