Young people aged 12 to 25 years can enjoy a range of fun activities in Golden Plains Shire throughout the upcoming winter school holidays, with activities running from Tuesday 8 July to Thursday 17 July 2025.
The free school holiday activities held across the Shire have been designed to support the needs and interests of young people, while also providing opportunities to learn new skills and connect with other young people.
The full list of school holiday activities available are:
Week one:
- Tuesday 8 July, 1 to 5pm – MasterChef Cake Making at The Well, 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale.
- Wednesday 9 July, 12.30 to 5.30pm – Movie Afternoon at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, Barwon Room, 27 High Street, Bannockburn.
- Thursday 10 July, 6 to 9pm – Geelong Ghost Tour at the Old Geelong Gaol, 202 Myers Street, Geelong.
Week two:
- Monday 14 July, 12.30 to 5.30pm – T-Shirt Decorating at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, Hall & Kitchen, 27 High Street, Bannockburn.
- Tuesday 15 July, 12.30 to 5.30pm – MasterChef Mexican Feast at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, Hall & Kitchen, 27 High Street, Bannockburn.
- Wednesday 16 July, 12 to 5pm – Woodwork – Bird Box Making at the Linton’s Men’s Shed, 8 O’Beirne Lane, Linton.
- Thursday 17 July, 10.30 am to 4.30pm – Gold Rush Indoor Mini Golf at the Gold Rush Mini Golf, 9367 Western Hwy, Warrenheip, Ballarat.
Golden Plains Shire Council Mayor Cr Owen Sharkey said the Winter Holiday Activity Program provided young people to enjoy fun activities while socialising with other young people.
“There’s plenty of activities on offer for the upcoming school holidays for young people to enjoy. Tickets are limited, so we encourage people to check out what’s available and secure a ticket for their chosen activity as soon as registrations open,” Cr Sharkey said.
