The hard work of volunteers has led to the expansion of one of the most unique Disc Golf Courses in Victoria at Inverleigh Golf Club.

Inverleigh Golf Club now boasts two 18-hole Disc Golf courses which run alongside its traditional golf course. Club volunteers recently put the finishing touches on the second 18-hole course, with almost 100 players competing on all 36 holes at the Inverleigh Disc Golf Open in August.

The additional 18-hole course significantly increases the club’s capacity to host larger events and attract more players. The project encompassed acquiring professional course design services and purchasing all the necessary equipment, ensuring a permanent and high-quality facility for the enjoyment of the community.

Inverleigh Disc Golf Club Member Andrew Ferguson said Inverleigh’s disc golf offering had many benefits for the local economy and visitor numbers to the town.

“The expanded capacity allows us to host larger leagues and tournaments, which will be the primary drivers for increasing club membership and player numbers,” Andrew said.

“The initial feedback from players and the community confirms that we are on the right track, and we are confident that the course will be a major success for years to come,” he said.

Inverleigh club volunteers were integral in the delivery of the second course installation. They worked collaboratively to execute a detailed project plan, with designated roles to carry out all the necessary works. Their hands-on involvement was crucial in bringing the project to fruition.

This project was supported by the Berrybank Wind Farm Community Grants Program.
