Smythesdale Planning Approval Received
Golden Plains Shire Council is pleased to announce that the final outstanding planning permit for the Smythesdale component of the Northern Streetscapes Revitalisation Project was received on 6 March 2026. This marks an important milestone in progressing revitalisation works across Smythesdale, Scarsdale and Linton.
Next Steps
- Final construction documentation for all three townships is expected to be completed by mid‑2026, allowing Council to proceed to tender.
- To maximise cost efficiencies, works for Smythesdale, Scarsdale and Linton will be tendered together.
- The tender process will run for approximately 10 weeks, including advertising, evaluation and contract award.
- Once a suitably qualified civil contractor is appointed, Council will oversee on‑site construction, with works anticipated to begin in the second half of 2026.
- The contract will deliver streetscape upgrades across all three townships.
- Council will keep local residents and businesses informed about the construction schedule and any impacts before works begin and throughout the project.
