Golden Plains Shire Council is thrilled to host two industry nights for secondary students and young people to assist in developing potential career prospects.
The Industry Nights feature two separate themes: Construction & Trades and Hair & Beauty. These themes aim to inspire and inform local secondary students and young people about various career pathways within these fields.
The Nights will feature local guest speakers from the relevant industries. Training and apprenticeship support providers will also be available to assist attendees in developing networking opportunities with relevant local businesses.
The Industry Nights will be held at Bannockburn P-12 College from 6 to 8pm on:
- Tuesday 19 August – Construction & Trades
- Tuesday 26 August – Hair & Beauty
Golden Plains Shire Mayor Cr Owen Sharkey encourages secondary students and young people to attend these events and open up new career opportunities.
If you’ve been thinking about a career in Construction and Trades or Hair and Beauty, these Nights are a fantastic opportunity. Come along and chat with local experts and apprentices to learn about a potential career in these fields, Cr Sharkey said.
This is a great opportunity to expand your network and hear directly from industry professionals about their experiences in these fields.
The Industry Nights are part of Council’s Work Readiness Program under the Victorian Government’s Engage! Initiative.
