Golden Plains Shire Council has filled the seventh position in its Councillor group after Dominic Cook was declared a Councillor Elect following a Victorian Electoral Commission countback.
Following the resignation of Cr Brett Cunningham in May 2025, the Victorian Electoral Commission held a countback to fill the Extraordinary Vacancy for Golden Plains Shire Council.
Mr Cook will join Mayor Cr Owen Sharkey, Cr Sarah Hayden, Cr Emma Robbins, Cr Des Phelan, Cr Helena Kirby and Cr Gavin Gamble as a Councillor for Golden Plains Shire once he takes the Oath or Affirmation of Office on Friday 20 June at 9am.
Mr Cook will serve as a Councillor for Golden Plains Shire for the first time.
