Golden Plains Shire Council will be undertaking an assessment of the Shire's 180km network of footpaths from Wednesday 25 March 2026. The assessment will take approximately one week to complete.
The assessment will be undertaken by Infrastructure Management Group who will obtain detailed video imaging and condition assessments of the Shire's footpaths.
Community members may notice quad bike assessment vehicles travelling on public footways during this period. All cameras are focused on the footpath surface structure with some limited viewing of areas directly adjacent. No image recordings of commercial, residential, private property or structures will be obtained.
The information gathered from this assessment will enable better management of footpaths as a community asset and will contribute to more effective maintenance and renewal strategies to improve connectivity, mobility and safety.
We thank you for your cooperation and patience while we undertake this crucial assessment.
