Golden Plains Shire Council is initiating a series of workshops aimed at informing local sporting clubs, committees of management, peak bodies and the general community about the newly introduced Fair Access Policy Roadmap.

The Fair Access Policy Roadmap is an Australia-first policy that aims to give women and girls better and fairer access to community sports infrastructure, with the Policy to come into effect on 1 July 2024.

The workshops will be held on:

  • Monday 15 April from 6 to 7.30pm at The Well, 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale. Register here.
  • Monday 22 April from 6 to 7.30pm at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, 27 High Street, Bannockburn. Register here.

The workshops will serve as a platform to disseminate information about the key components of the Fair Access Policy, delving into the details of the roadmap and outlining the strategies and objectives set to propel women and girls into the forefront of community sports.

Attendees will gain insights into how their organisation can navigate funding applications under the new policy, ensuring alignment with the roadmap’s goals for improved inclusivity and accessibility in sports infrastructure.

Light refreshments will be provided. To read more about the Fair Access Policy Roadmap, click here
