Golden Plains Shire Council is encouraging residents in Smythesdale and surrounding communities to have their say on the Draft Woady Yaloak Recreation Reserve Master Plan (the Draft Master Plan).
The Draft Master Plan was developed following community consultation undertaken in February and March this year and is now on public exhibition with residents invited to view the Draft Master Plan and provide feedback.
The Draft Master Plan was developed in close consultation with local user groups and tenant clubs, aligning with Council’s vision for sport and active recreation. The strategic document ensures the long-term development goals of tenant clubs; community groups and residents are carefully considered.
Golden Plains Shire Mayor Cr Owen Sharkey encouraged northern communities to share their thoughts on the Draft Master Plan.
Building on the valuable feedback you shared with us at the beginning of the year, we’ve created a Draft Master Plan that we believe reflects general community issues and trends, as well as specific needs and aspirations for the Reserve’s functionality, Cr Sharkey said.
Your input is important as we want to ensure the Draft Master Plan accurately addresses existing facilities, future recreational opportunities, and the demand for new amenities.
Feedback on the Draft Master Plan is invited from Thursday 5 June until 5pm, Friday 27 June 2025, and can be completed online at goldenplains.vic.gov.au/consultations. The survey will also be available at Council’s Customer Hubs, 2 Pope Street, Bannockburn, and 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale.
Following the consultation period, feedback on the Draft Master Plan will be taken into consideration before the Master Plan is presented for adoption at a Council Meeting later this year.
