Council has released a What We Heard Report following an extensive community engagement program in relation to the development of its next four-year Council Plan.
Throughout 2024, community members participated in the development of the 2025-2029 Council Plan through online and hard-copy surveys, in-person and online workshops, and targeted outreach with youth and Municipal Health and Wellbeing partners.
Golden Plains Shire Mayor Cr Sarah Hayden thanked the more than 1000 community members who participated in Council Plan engagement activities.
“It was great to see community members really engaged in shaping the future of Golden Plains Shire, and your responses will help inform the ongoing development of the 2025-2029 Council Plan,” Cr Hayden said.
“This valuable community feedback is instrumental in developing this crucial document which outlines Council’s objectives and strategies for the next four years.”
The Community Engagement Summary Report: Shaping Our Future: Development of Council Plan 2025-2029 is now available at goldenplains.vic.gov.au/consultations.
Councillors and Council staff are using the community feedback to develop the Draft 2025-2029 Council Plan. There will be further opportunities for the community to provide feedback during the Draft Plan’s public consultation period in mid-2025.
Feedback gathered through the Council Plan engagement also included input on Golden Plains Shire next Asset Plan and Financial Plan. The results from this feedback will also be considered in the development of these plans which will go out for consultation later in the year.
