Council Celebrates Young Athletics Champion - Grace Crowe

Ross Creek teenager Grace Crowe has been recognised for her exceptional athletics achievements with a Citizen Recognition Award at the Golden Plains Shire Council meeting on 25 July 2023.

Grace is 14 years old and recently represented Victoria in sprint and relay events at the 2023 Australian Track & Field Championships in Brisbane, taking home bronze as part of Victorian Under-16 4X100 metres relay team. Grace also excelled at Victorian Under-16 Championships in Melbourne earlier this year, taking home gold in the 100 metre and 200 metre sprint events.

In addition to representing Victoria, Grace is an invaluable member of the Ballarat Harriers Athletics Club, contributing her talent and commitment to the team. Furthermore, she competes individually and as part of relays for Ballarat at the state level, displaying her determination and sportsmanship.

Grace joined Little Athletics at the age of eight and has demonstrated her passion and talent for the sport ever since.
Golden Plains Shire Mayor, Cr Brett Cunningham congratulated Grace on her well-deserved recognition.

Grace’s achievements inspire us all, and we are proud to have her as an exemplary member of our community.
