The Community Choice Voucher Program initially piloted in Bannockburn has proven to be a significant success, with vouchers available via our Health Service provider Hesse Rural Health.
This program provides essential assistance to residents facing hardship, allowing them to access basic food and medication locally.
Residents can currently redeem their Community Choice food vouchers at Shazza’s Fruit and Veggies and Terry White Chemist Bannockburn.
Due to the success of this initiative and an identified need, the program is now being expanded into Rokewood.
The two local businesses participating in the voucher program are Rokewood Takeaway and HealthEZ Pharmacy.
This expansion aims to alleviate the burden of residents having to travel outside of the township for necessities, like food medication.
The goal is to extend the program to all areas within the Shire.
The same voucher can also be redeemed at Glenelg Food Share for over $200 worth of provisions, offering additional flexibility and support to those in need.
This initiative is fully funded by Give Where You Live Foundation.
