Changes to upcoming Council Meetings

Until further notice, all scheduled meetings of Council will be held at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, 27 High Street. This includes next week’s Ordinary Meeting of Council on Tuesday 28 April, 2020 at 6pm.

In a first for Golden Plains Shire Council, the meeting will be livestreamed on Council’s YouTube page.

The Council Meeting was previously scheduled at the Bannockburn Shire Hall. The larger location will allow for greater distance between all attendees of the public meeting. All attendees are advised to practice social distancing and the hygiene recommendations of the Department of Health and Human Services. Any questions submitted for Public Question Time will not be read out at the meeting, with all questions to receive a written response.

The State Government has announced it will bring a bill to parliament this week that would allow Councils to have virtual meetings due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If passed, Golden Plains Shire Council will assess the opportunity for virtual Council Meetings in the future.

To view the Council Meeting online from 6pm, Tuesday 28 April, visit youtube.com and search ‘Golden Plains Shire Council’. The direct link will be posted on Council’s website the day of the meeting.

Additionally, there will be changes to the September, October and November scheduled meetings due to the Council Election Period:

  • The September Ordinary Council meeting, has been changed to 6pm on Monday 21 September 2020 (previously 22 September).
  • The October Ordinary Council meeting, scheduled on Tuesday 27 October 2020, has been cancelled. There will be no Ordinary Council Meeting in October 2020.

The November Special Council meeting (Mayoral Election), has been changed to 6pm on Tuesday 10 November 2020 (previously 4 November).
