Celebrate Women's Health Week in Golden Plains Shire

Health & Wellbeing
Bannockburn

Golden Plains Shire Council is hosting two free events to celebrate Women’s Health Week 2025, a nationwide initiative dedicated to the health and wellbeing of women, girls and gender-diverse people. The events are being held on 4 and 5 September 2025.

Community members are encouraged to come along to ‘Pain to Power’ on Thursday 4 September from 10am to 12pm at the Golden Plains Civic Centre, 2 Pope Street, Bannockburn. This event is open to everyone and features speakers from Women’s Health Grampians, Golden Plains Medical Centre and Golden Plains Shire Council.

Women and girls aged 5+ are also invited to attend ‘Be kind to your mind’ on Friday 5 September from 4 to 6pm at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, 27 High Street, Bannockburn. Facilitated by Firefly Wellbeing, this intergenerational art workshop nurtures both creativity and connection.

Golden Plains Shire Mayor Cr Owen Sharkey encouraged women, girls and gender-diverse people to attend the events.

This years’ theme for Women’s Health Week is ‘say yes to you’ and Council is proud to host these events which focus on a different health topic to help women prioritise their own health and wellbeing, Cr Sharkey said.

These events are all about saying yes to you and putting your health first. Bring your mum, daughter, sister, neighbour, best friend, grandmother, or any special women in your life.

To register for the events, visit goldenplains.vic.gov.au/events. Registrations available through Eventbrite. Refreshments will be provided at both events.
