13 November 2025
Notification of Music Event at Barunah Plains, 4484 Hamilton Highway, Hesse.
Dear Resident,
We would like to inform you that Untitled Group will be hosting the Beyond the Valley festival from Sunday 28 December 2025 to Thursday 1 January 2026.
Music
The EPA has permitted this event to operate between:
- noon and 11:59pm on 28 Dec,
- noon and 3:00am on the day and night of 29 Dec,
- noon and 3:00am on the day and night of 30 Dec,
- noon and 4:00am on the day and night of 31 Dec.
To ensure this event is compliant with EPA noise regulations, permit conditions, and there is minimal disruption to the surrounding area, the following measures will be implemented:
- The stage orientation has been designed to orient speakers away from the nearest and most affected dwellings and achieve compliance with the EPA noise limits.
- Continual monitoring of the sound levels by an accredited acoustic engineer to ensure that sound emissions from the site comply with EPA regulations.
- All staff and contractors have been fully briefed and understand the EPA regulations that govern this event.
- Beyond the Valley may be able to provide respite from the music at the most affected areas if required.
While you may hear music, all compliant noise should not interfere with normal conversation. There will be intermittent audio testing from 2:00pm - 8:00pm approximately on the 27 Dec.
The hotline can be contacted on phone no 0467 691 380 at any time during the event to report any noise related problems you may be experiencing. Upon receipt of a complaint the acoustic consultant will test the sound levels in your immediate area to ensure it complies with the EPA regulations. If the sound level breaches any part of the EPA regulations the music will be reduced to comply. You will be notified of the result of our investigations and the course of action undertaken.
Traffic
As part of the festival, certain local roadways will be closed to non-local traffic. Residents who require access via these closures will be issued vehicle passes for transition through any road closure quickly and seamlessly.
To ensure minimal impacts to yourself and your neighbors, please find six (6) vehicle passes accompanying this letter, which should be displayed in your vehicles dashboard, to allow traffic controllers to allow you to pass quickly and seamlessly. We have also provided further information below. If you require more passes please contact [email protected]
Q: What roads will be impacted?
A: The impacted roads include Wingeel Road, between Cressy Shelford Road and Hamilton Hwy, which will be closed to all traffic except for local access. However, it remains a potential option for opening if wet weather affects event ingress and the northern route along Brocks Road becomes impassable. In this case, vehicles entering via Cressy Shelford Road will continue past Brocks Road, turn left onto Wingeel Road, then left onto Hamilton Highway, and finally left onto the southern end of Wentworths Road. This will allow traffic to merge with vehicles entering from Hamilton Highway.
Please note, this is a contingency plan and will only be used as a last resort, as it is highly unlikely to be needed. However, it's important to have an alternative route in place.
Brocks Road, at the Hamilton Hwy end, will only be opened in the event of an accident at the corner of Wentworths Road and Hamilton Highway, where we may need to redirect vehicles that have already passed Inverleigh Shelford Road. In the event of traffic congestion or an incident at Wentworths Road, Brocks Road may be used as a pressure relief route, but again, this will only be activated if absolutely necessary and on Victoria Police authority.
Also closed (except to local traffic) with signs, is McIntyres Road between Wingeel Road and Flemings Road. This is an unmade and unmanaged road and the signs are there to deter patrons from driving along it.
Q: What times will roads be impacted?
A: Road closures will be manned between 0600 – 2200 on 28 December thru 31 December. We anticipate 75-80% of attendees to arrive on the 28th of December with the remainder spread over the 29th > 31st of December 2025.
We will then see all attendees leave the festival site on January 1, 2026.
Q: What if I need more vehicle passes?
A: Please contact [email protected] to arrange the provision of more passes.
Q: What if I have a problem on the day?
A: Road closures will be managed by Barwon Traffic Management and their friendly Traffic Controllers should be able to assist you at the closure points. Should you have any further concerns, you can call the Event Operations Centre 24/7 during the event on 0467 691 380.
Security and Waste
Should you have any security or waste concerns, 24 hours a day, please call 0467 691 380. The Event Operations Centre will be manned and be able to deploy security or cleaning crews as needed.
