Abstract Block Workshop a success

Meredith

Council was delighted to offer an ‘Abstract Block’ workshop in Meredith during the September school holidays, with around 70 participants joining in this fun, creative event. Part of Council’s Arts and Culture program of events, participating children were able to create their very own piece of abstract block art, something they might not create at home!

The Meredith Interpretive Centre was at full-capacity as parents from within (and even outside of) the Shire, piled into the home of the BOP Arts Co Op on Tuesday 25 September. Here, they were led by a local professional artist who upskilled participants in colour blending basics and acrylic paint application. Local creativity was shining bright as participants, from as young as three years of age, created colourful, eye-catching art.

By all reports, the workshop, which was broken into three sessions to cover various age groups, was a great success. Participants have said they ‘had a ball’, ‘would love to see the program run again’ and that the ‘space and company were wonderful’.
