Golden Plains Shire Council has awarded Community Strengthening Grants to nine Golden Plains community projects in the 2025 program.

Council has awarded a total of $50,000 in grant funding to successful groups to deliver nine projects across three streams: Healthy Connected Community, Environment and Sustainability, and Community Inclusion.

In this round, grants are allocated to organisations across Golden Plains Shire, and support projects including sports and recreation activities, creative projects, environmental initiatives and education programs. Council’s Community Strengthening Grants are a valuable source of financial support for local projects and programs in Golden Plains Shire.

Golden Plains Shire Mayor Cr Owen Sharkey said the grants continued to support community-building initiatives across the Shire.

“Council’s Community Strengthening Grants Program is an important initiative that has been running for almost 30 years and supports community projects and initiatives in every part of Golden Plains Shire,” Cr Sharkey said.

“Congratulations to the successful groups who have been awarded grant funding to support their projects and initiatives.”
