The Gheringhap Employment Precinct covers 130 hectares of privately owned Farming Zoned land, identified for transition into a vibrant commercial and industrial hub. It is strategically located on the Midland Highway at Gheringhap, and the precinct is well positioned between Geelong, Ballarat and Melbourne, as well as offering excellent access to major transport routes. 

The Gheringhap Structure Plan, adopted by Council and incorporated into the Planning Scheme, sets the long-term vision for development of the precinct as a key regional employment node.

Current Status

Council continues to promote the Gheringhap Employment Precinct as a major economic opportunity, with the site positioned for long term industrial and commercial development. At present:

  • The land remains zoned Farming Zone but identified for future employment use in the Planning Scheme.
  • Infrastructure planning for utilities and services is ongoing.
