Super Veggie Four Challenge

The Super Veggie Four challenge will be held from 22 October, 2022 until 20 January, 2023 to encourage local children to eat three servings of vegetables a day for 30 days. 

Children who register to participate in the challenge will receive a Taste the Rainbow placemat, a Choose Water Every Day water bottle and a challenge sheet to keep track of their vegetable consumption throughout the 30 days. There will also be incentives throughout the challenge period to encourage children to keep on track and stay motivated. 

Upon completion of the challenge, participants will receive a copy of the ‘Super Veggie Four’ children’s book. 

Registration

Council is inviting children and families in Golden Plains Shire to register for the Super Veggie Four Challenge at a number of locations across the Shire including: 

  • Children’s Week event at Bannockburn YMCA, 132 Milton Street Bannockburn on Saturday 22 October from 10.30am to 12.30pm
  • Children’s Week event at The Well, 19 Heales Street Smythesdale on Thursday 27 October from 11.30am to 1pm
  • Golden Plains Farmers Market, 22 Byron Street Bannockburn on Saturday 5 November from 8.30am to 12.30pm
  • Haddon 150 Year Celebration at the Haddon Memorial Reserve, Memorial Drive, Haddon on Saturday 26 November from 10.30am

Challenge Instructions

To participate, once you’ve eaten 3 servings of vegetables each day, mark the circle on your challenge sheet.  You can do this any way you want – with a pen, a stamp or even colour it in!

  • At the 10 day mark, take your sheet to one of the participating partners to claim your surprise rewards. Your challenge sheet will be updated to show you have picked up your reward.
  • At the 20 day mark, take your sheet to one of the participating partners to claim your surprise rewards. Your challenge sheet will be updated to show you have picked up your reward.
  • After 30 days of eating at least three servings of vegetables a day, you can hand in your challenge sheet to a participating partner and receive the Super Veggie 4 children’s picture book.  Your challenge sheet will then be entered into a prize draw. 

To participate in the draw, please return completed Super Veggie 4 30 Day Challenge sheet to one of the participating partners by Friday 20 January 2023.  The draw will take place between Monday 30 January and Friday 3 February, 2023.
