Save the Date Project

Share your stories and help document life at home under COVID 19 self-isolation and social distancing rules. 

We invite you (artists, individuals, community groups) to nominate a date in the month of May and submit a digital diary entry for that day. Each creative response may take any form, but must be  suitable to be broadcast over the web – this could be a short film, animation, spoken word piece, poem, dance, performance, music – anything at all as long as it can be broadcast online and made under the current rules of social distancing and isolation.

Daily diary entries will be uploaded/approved every 24 hours to the new Golden Plains Arts & Culture Facebook Page as an online exhibition that represents COVID-19 life in Golden Plains Shire.

Great news for local creatives, the free ArtsACTION workshops will now go-ahead online:

1. Being Market Ready: 7 May

2. Working Together Effectively: 30 July

3. Digital Communications: 27 August

These workshops by Pop Up Art are designed to connect and strengthen networks, encourage market-readiness, provide opportunities to broaden reach, and gain new skills through working collectively. GP Arts Inc. Arts Trail

Local community group GP Arts Inc. manage this popular event.

The 2020 Arts Trail will take place on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March 2020.


Spring in the Shire Photography Competition and Exhibition

Following on from the successful 2017 and 2019 events, Council will deliver this event again in 2021.  Further information will be provided closer to the date.


LOLA - Literacy on Linton Arts

Due to the success of 2018 & 2019 LOLA  Festivals the community hope to run this event again in October 2020.  This event celebrates the local stories of Linton and it's people through literacy, events and the arts.

An independent group of artists and creatives with headquarters based in Meredith.  This group offers school holiday programs, workshops, exhibitions and room hire for any creative offering that the local community would like to present.
