During emergencies such as bushfires, storms or floods, having a safe place to relocate horses is essential. Several equestrian facilities in our region are able to offer temporary support when conditions allow. Below is a list of known centres, including details on access, facilities and key contacts.
Please contact centres directly where possible and monitor official emergency updates before transporting animals.

Location: Park Street, Inverleigh
Victoria Park is a community‑managed equestrian and recreation reserve that can assist with temporary horse accommodation during emergencies. Please note that the park is located in a suburban area, so noise and late‑night arrivals should be kept to a minimum.
Important Considerations
- The grounds can become very wet in winter — vehicles towing floats are advised to remain on higher ground to avoid bogging.
- The park is open 24/7.
- There are multiple gates and none are locked. Please ensure you close all gates upon entry and exit.
- Visitors should remain mindful of community users (walkers, dogs, etc.).
Facilities
- Old but functional toilet block (no showers)
- Club room (access requires a committee member; has stairs and is not wheelchair accessible)
- Kitchenette with fridge, oven and basic amenities (requires committee access)
- Two dressage arenas
- Small wooden day yards maintained by Leigh District Riding Club
- Multiple taps, including one with hose connection and nearby concrete pad
(located near the Oak Tree on the McCallum Road boundary)
