Golden Plains Shire Council congratulates the prize winners of its Youth Photography Competition.
Funded by a $2,000 Victorian Government Youth Week grant, Council’s Youth Photography Competition provided a platform for local young people to learn new skills and showcase their creative talents. Young People from across the Shire were invited to enter their photographs of Golden Plains in one of two categories: 12 to 18 years and 19 to 25 years. Two free online training sessions, presented by professional photographer Ferne Millen, were available to provide participants with knowledge and techniques to enhance their photography skills.
Council received 77 entries for the Youth Photography Competition, from 34 individual young people, and all entries have been showcased online this week, as a celebration of Victorian Youth Week and the creative talents of Golden Plains Youth. The Youth Photography Competition was judged independently, with entries judged on impact, subject matter and storytelling.
