In partnership with Business Victoria, Council will host a series of business workshops in Smythesdale and Bannockburn in September, October and November this year.
The free workshops will be facilitated by Business Victoria and will cover a range of business topics including Starting your Small Business, Taking Your Business Online, Social Media and Content Marketing, and Maximising Your Marketing.
The workshops aim to support local businesses, and those looking to set up a business, to gain new skills and knowledge that will help their business to grow and succeed.
The first three workshops will be held at The Well (Digital Hub), 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale:
- Starting Your Small Business Workshop: Thursday 8 September from 5.30 to 8.30pm
- Taking Your Business Online Workshop: Tuesday 18 October from 5.30 to 7.30pm

Golden Plains Shire Council Mayor Cr Gavin Gamble says Council is committed to supporting local businesses and is delighted to be able to deliver these workshops following what has been a challenging few years for the business community.
I encourage business owners across the Shire to attend the business workshops to expand their knowledge and to help strengthen and grow their business.
No matter what industry you are in, whether it be agriculture, hospitality or retail, the business workshops are a fantastic opportunity to upskill and walk away with valuable resources and tools to help your business succeed and meet up with new people with common aspirations.
Council is delighted to partner with Business Victoria to facilitate the business workshops. These workshops, along with the other recent business events Council has hosted across the Shire, are an excellent example of the support Council provides to local businesses. We look forward to continuing to add to the business event calendar over the next 12 months.
