The Bannockburn Heart’s water play space will reopen for the summer season on Thursday 3 December.
In preparation for the season opening, six trees located next to the water play space will be removed, with works commencing Monday 30 November. Unfortunately, the leaves and berries from these peppercorn trees have been found to have a significantly negative effect on the water quality and safe, healthy operation of the water play space.
In order to provide more shade and seating for the popular play space, Council will install shade sails and additional furniture settings in the new year. Works are also underway to install additional artificial turf at the site. Stage 2 of the Bannockburn Heart will see more tree plantings in this area.
Golden Plains Shire Council is looking forward to welcoming the community back to the water play space over summer.
