Council is hosting a series of free activities for young people aged 12 to 25 years throughout the upcoming Winter School Holidays, with activities running from Tuesday 27 June until Thursday 6 July 2023. 

There are a diverse range of free school holiday activities held across the Shire, catering to different interests and abilities.

The full list of school holiday activities available are:

  • Tuesday 27 June, 2 to 6pm – Movie Afternoon at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, 25-27 High Street, Bannockburn
  • Wednesday 28 June, 1 to 3pm – Robotics at the Corindhap Memorial Hall, 4 Hall Road, Corindhap
  • Thursday 29 June, 10am to 12pm – Arts Group at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, 25-27 High Street, Bannockburn 
  • Tuesday 4 July, 1pm to 3pm – Tie Dying at The Well, 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale
  • Wednesday 5 July, 1 to 3pm – Zine Making at the Inverleigh Bowls Club, 20 Railway Street, Inverleigh 
  • Thursday 6 July, 10am – 12pm – Arts Group at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, 25-27 High Street, Bannockburn

Golden Plains Shire Council Mayor Cr Brett Cunningham encourages young people to get involved in the free holiday activities on offer across the Shire throughout the upcoming school holidays kicking off at the end of June. 

“Council’s School Holiday activities are an excellent opportunity for Golden Plains youth to connect, gain new skills and make friends in a safe, inclusive and fun environment.”

“Council is committed to creating new and enjoyable experiences for Golden Plains youth over the holiday periods to meet the needs and interests of young people, whilst providing platforms to learn new skills.

“There are activities held across the Shire, and transport options are available, to encourage as many young people as possible to get involved.”
