Golden Plains Shire is excited to announce its participation in the Victorian Government’s Tiny Towns Grant Program, an initiative designed to enhance towns with populations less than 5,000 people.

The Tiny Towns Fund, allocated over the next four years, is set to invigorate the charm of our unique towns in Golden Plains. With a focus on economic, social, environmental, sport, and wellbeing outcomes, the program encourages diverse projects that will elevate the essence of these thriving communities.

The fund is open to applications from incorporated not-for-profit community organisations and Local Government Authorities with grants between $5,000 and $50,000 available for each project. Applicants will be required to make a co-contribution of money or in-kind support towards the proposed project budget aligning with program guidelines.

Golden Plains Shire Council Mayor Cr Brett Cunningham encouraged local groups to seize this chance and commended the program.

The Tiny Towns Grant Program is a golden opportunity for our communities with less than 5,000 people to apply.  Let’s empower our tiny towns to flourish in every aspect of economic, social, environmental, sport and wellbeing outcomes,” Cr Cunningham said.

Council is supporting applicants through the grant application process with an opportunity for those groups considering applying for a grant to have one-on-one virtual meetings with members of Council’s Economic Development Team.
