Upcoming Tree Safety Removal in Meredith

Community
Meredith

A row of aged Monterey Cypress trees in Meredith will be removed next week to maintain community safety.

The row of 33 trees at the Meredith Cricket and Recreation Reserve have been identified as dead or at risk of limb failure and require removal, following assessment by Council’s Arboriculture Specialist.

Works to remove the trees will begin on Monday 21 February and conclude by Friday 25 February.

Firewood from the trees will be free for collection by local residents at the Meredith Cricket and Recreation Reserve on McLeod Street, available for pick up each day of works from 4pm.

Council has sent letters to residents near Meredith Cricket and Recreation Reserve in preparation for the tree removal.

A map showing the location of the trees to be removed is available on this page below.

Later this year, Council will prepare a Tree Succession Plan for Meredith, with the community encouraged to take part in consultation.
