Tannery Road Floodway Improvement Works

Tannery Road Floodway
Roads & Transport
Scarsdale

Council will soon commence works to improve the Tannery Road Floodway in Scarsdale.

The works include improving and increasing the number of culverts along the existing floodway.

Tannery Road will remain closed to traffic and pedestrians at the floodway site during the construction period between 24 January, 2023 and 28 February, 2023. Detour signs will be in place to guide traffic in the vicinity of the construction site. Drivers may experience some disruption during this period, and Council requests drivers to be mindful of the proposed construction works, drive to the conditions and allow extra travel time.

Duration of the works is weather dependant, and in the case of a major storm event, works will be deferred to allow access once floodwaters have subsided.

Council’s contractors will be on site in early January setting up site huts and amenities in preparation for construction commencement.

Council regularly works to identify upgrade projects, through hazard inspections, accident statistics and feedback from the community, as well as in locations where there are increased traffic movements around schools, recreation and community facilities or new developments that create increased pedestrian movements.

To report a footpath or road issue, please contact Council’s Customer Experience Team on 5220 7111 or report it online at goldenplains.vic.gov.au.
