Supporting Residents to Access Proof of Vaccination

Council is supporting the Golden Plains Shire community to access their proof of COVID-19 vaccination, with accessible assistance provided by Council and Geelong Regional Library Corporation staff.

Vaccination Certificate Support sessions will be available at locations across the Shire, providing opportunities for community member to access support to link their vaccination certificate to their smartphone or gaining a printed copy of their vaccination certificate. There will also be help to access the Medicare Express application, set up a MyGov account or link Medicare to a MyGov account.

Council has partnered with Geelong Regional Library Corporation to provide one-on-one sessions at Bannockburn Library on Tuesday 9 November, and Wednesdays 17 and 24 November. Assistance will also be available at the Golden Plains Mobile Library on Thursdays 11, 18 and 25 November at:

  • Russell Street (Community Centre), Meredith: 9 to 10.30am
  • Ferrars Street (Police Station), Rokewood: 11.45am to 1pm
  • Swamp Road (Community Hall), Dereel: 2.15 to 3pm (excluding 25 November)
  • Buninyong-Mt Mercer Road (Community Hall), Grenville: 2.15 to 3pm (only 25 November)
  • Colac-Ballarat Road, Enfield: 3.30 to 4:30pm

And on Fridays 12, 19 and 26 November at:

  • Sago Hill Road (Community Centre), Haddon: 9 to 10am
  • The Well, 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale: 10.30am to 12pm
  • Skate Park, Glenelg Highway, Linton: 1:30 to 2:45pm
  • Pitsfield-Scarsdale Road, Cape Clear: 3:15 to 4:00pm

While a booking is not required to attend the vaccination certificate assistance sessions at library facilities, it is recommended. To book, visit events.grlc.vic.gov.au/events or call 4201 0661.

Council is also offering vaccine certificate support at drop-in sessions at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, 27 High Street, from 10am to 1pm on Tuesdays 9, 16 and 23 November. Council staff will also be available to assist community members at Dereel Soldiers Memorial Hall, Swamp Road, from 10am to 1pm on Thursday 18 and at The Well, 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale from 10am to 1pm on Thursdays 11 and 25 November.

Mayor Cr Helena Kirby encouraged residents across the Shire to make the most of the free support service.

“Council and Geelong Regional Library Corporation staff will be available at locations across the Shire, and I encourage community members to make the most of this valuable service.”
