Are you passionate about your community? Want to make a difference to improve the social wellbeing of your town? Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from local community members to get involved in the Community Planning Program.

Golden Plains Shire Council’s Community Planning Program builds a community’s capacity to identify, design and implement their own community plan. The program provides the connection between community and local government and is a process where communities identify their goals for improving the social, economic and environmental wellbeing of their town.

Council is encouraging residents to get involved in the Community Planning Program by sending an Expression of Interest to become a Community Coordinator, Project Champion, or general volunteer in the delivery of Community Plans for your town.

Golden Plains Shire Council Mayor Cr Brett Cunningham said Community Planning was a fantastic way for people to come together to plan and deliver positive outcomes for where they live.

“Community Planning enables local residents to create a shared vision for their local community and build on the connection between communities and local government,” Cr Cunningham said.

“A robust Community Plan is one that encompasses the views of as many people in the community as possible, and we encourage community members interested in creating positive outcomes for their local town or area to get involved in the Community Planning program.”
