Council is hosting a series of free activities for young people aged 12 to 25 years throughout the upcoming Spring School Holidays, with fantastic activities running from Monday 18 September to Thursday 28 September. 

The free school holiday activities held across the Shire have been designed to support the needs and interests of young people, while also providing opportunities to learn new skills and connect with other young people.

The full list of school holiday activities available are:

  • Monday 18 September, 12.30 to 4pm – Drop-in Masterchef at the Golden Plains Youth Hub, Milton Street, Bannockburn.
  • Tuesday 19 September, 10am to 12.30pm – Drop-in Acrylic Pour at the Golden Plains Youth Hub, Milton Street, Bannockburn*
  • Wednesday 20 September, 9am to 6pm – Hosier to Holbein Street Art & Gallery Visit - National Gallery of Victoria and Hosier Lane, Melbourne*
  • Wednesday 20 September, 12.30 to 4pm – Drop-in Food Fun at the Golden Plains Youth Hub, Milton Street, Bannockburn.
  • Thursday 21 September, 10am to 1pm – All Aboard Skate Workshop at the Bannockburn Skate Park, Moore Street, Bannockburn*
  • Thursday 21 September, 10am to 1pm – Rollerway at the Rollerway Skate Centre, Lambert Avenue, Newtown*
  • Tuesday 26 September, 12.30pm to 4pm – Drop-in GameOn at the Golden Plains Youth Hub, Milton Street, Bannockburn.
  • Wednesday 27 September, 12.30pm to 4pm – Drop-in Food Fun at the Golden Plains Youth Hub, Milton Street, Bannockburn.
  • Thursday 28 September, 10am to 1pm – AllOverMeredith Skate Workshop at the Meredith Skate Park, Wilson Street, Meredith*
  • Thursday 28 September, 2.30 to 4.30pm – Movie Afternoon – Puss in Boots, The Last Wish at the Golden Plains Youth Hub, Milton Street, Bannockburn*

Golden Plains Shire Council Mayor Cr Brett Cunningham encouraged young people to get involved in the exciting range of free activities on offer.

“Council is pleased to be able to offer a range of school holiday activities that cater to young people’s different interests, and from skate workshops to gaming and cooking sessions, there’s so much for young people to enjoy,” Cr Cunningham said.

“We encourage young people to check out Council’s website to see what’s on offer, and take up the opportunity to have fun in a safe environment while strengthening social connections with their peers.”
