Golden Plains Shire Council and the Golden Plains Youth Activation Committee are thrilled to deliver a free environmentally focused ‘Photosynthesis – Talk & Walk’ event to be held on Saturday 17 May from 10am to 12.30pm at the Clarkesdale Bird Sanctuary, Happy Valley.
Open to residents of all ages, the event will allow participants to gain a deeper knowledge of local native and non-native plant and animal species, as well as listen to expert talks, take part in a guided walk, and play a flora and fauna bingo game.
Attendees will hear from guest speakers Emily Noble from BirdLife Australia and Bianca Fammartino from Leigh Catchment Group.
Golden Plains Shire Mayor Cr Sarah Hayden encouraged residents to attend the event.
This event is an initiative of the Golden Plains Youth Activation Committee and is a fantastic opportunity to learn about our local natural environment and sustainability practices while engaging with expert guest speakers on Golden Plains’ native flora and fauna, Cr Hayden said.
To register for the event, visit goldenplains.vic.gov.au/events. Registrations are essential. Morning tea will be provided.
