Golden Plains Shire Council advises that Nimmons Bridge in Newtown will be temporarily closed for surface treatment works.
The improvements to the Ballarat-Skipton Rail Trail are scheduled to be undertaken from Tuesday to Friday, 14 to 17 June. However, the works are weather dependant and if not able to be actioned as scheduled, will be completed as soon as possible.
The trail works are part of the Three Trails Project to improve and upgrade three significant multi-use trails: Ballarat–Skipton Rail Trail, Kuruc a Ruc Trail and Rainbow Bird Trail. Popular with local and visiting walkers, hikers, cyclists and horse-riders, the trails span a total of 101km and connect 15 different townships and communities across Golden Plains Shire, as well as City of Ballarat and Corangamite Shire.
