Keeping Young People Connected Virtually

Golden Plains Shire Council is supporting young people across the Shire to stay connected with a range of online activities over the next four weeks.

While Council’s in-person youth spaces and programs are not currently operating due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Youth Development team have created a series of weekly online activities to support young people to connect and have fun.    

The series includes a variety of activities to meet a diverse range of needs and interests, and local young people aged 12 to 17 are encouraged to attend. All activities are free and will run from 4.30pm to 5.30pm on:

The online series begins on Tuesday 31 August with a Creative Workshop and will conclude on Friday 24 September.

The free online series will be supervised by Council’s Youth Development Staff and provide young people with a virtual space to catch up, while offering opportunities to get creative, active and have fun.  

The Tuesday afternoon Creative Workshops will explore a range of creative mediums using whatever materials are already available to participants, while the Online Gaming sessions will present participants with a series of fun and engaging games for all abilities and interests each Wednesday.

Young people will have the opportunity to test their knowledge across a variety of topics with Thursday afternoon Online Trivia, and get their bodies moving with all abilities, equipment free fitness sessions hosted by Pulse Fitness Bannockburn on Fridays.
