Golden Plains Shire Council invites young people aged 12 to 18 to attend the FReeZA Movie Night at the Golden Plains Youth Hub on Friday 8 July, 2022.

Open to young people aged 12 to 18, Movie Night at the Hub it set to be an evening of fun, with music entertainment and a movie screening to celebrate the end of school holidays. A pizza dinner, popcorn and non-alcoholic beverages will also be provided.

A strictly drug, alcohol and smoke free event, Movie Night at the Hub will be held at the Golden Plains Youth Hub, Milton Street, Bannockburn on Friday 8 July from 6 to 9pm.

Movie Night at the Hub is the first event coordinated by the FReeZA Youth Event Crew, a committee of young people with an interest in music, event management, arts and community events. The Crew are supported by Council’s Youth Development team and through the coordination of the activities including Movie Night at the Hub, gain valuable event management experience and an insight into career pathways in the arts, music and events industries.

FReeZA is a Victorian Government initiative that supports young Victorians to get involved in their community by planning and running drug, smoke and alcohol-free music and cultural events for other young people.

Mayor Cr Gavin Gamble encouraged Golden Plains youth to register now for the event.

“Movie Night at the Hub is a great opportunity for Golden Plains youth to come together in a safe and inclusive space and celebrate the end of school holidays with a fun movie night.

“As a youth-led event, Movie Night at the Hub is more than just a fun night out for young people in the Shire, it also provides members of the FReeZA Youth Events Crew with important development opportunities within the arts and events industries
