Inverleigh town entrance sign update

Inverleigh

In positive news for Inverleigh residents, significant progress has been made in the Inverleigh Progress Association’s objective of establishing two new town entrance signs to welcome people to their beautiful community.

Council has been working closely with the Inverleigh Progress Association over many years in this volunteer project to build town entrance signs on the east and west approaches of Inverleigh. Council officers have been liaising with VicRoads with regard to appropriate placement and sizing of the entrance signs.

Council would like to recognise the efforts of the volunteer-run Inverleigh Progress Association in organising this project – the new town signs will be a great asset to your community.

Council has agreed to support this project and use Council resources to remove one tree to facilitate the building of the entrance sign as an act of goodwill. Council anticipates the tree contractor will remove the tree in two weeks’ time. The removal of the tree will enable clearer view lines, allowing passing traffic to better see the entrance sign whilst formalising the entrance to the Inverleigh township.

Following the removal of the tree, the Inverleigh Progress Association are scheduled to ‘break ground’, with the building of the new signs (upon submission of their final paperwork, and pending the availability of the dry stone wall sculptor).

If you would like further information about the new Inverleigh Town Signs, please contact the Inverleigh Progress Association.
