Golden Plains Shire Council is seeking feedback from community members to support the development of the Woady Yaloak Equestrian Centre Masterplan (the Masterplan).

Council has commenced the development of a masterplan for the Woady Yaloak Equestrian Centre, identifying the future needs of the facility and detailing strategic development opportunities at the Centre.

The Masterplan will assess the current and future sporting and recreation needs of the Centre, as well as the condition and provision of the current equestrian and community facilities. The Masterplan will provide a guide for future enhancements and development to ensure it remains a valuable community asset in the future and increase its capacity to hold large events.

The Woady Yaloak Equestrian Centre provides the local community with a range of opportunities for equestrian participation, including dressage, eventing, show jumping, pony club and adult riding clubs. Council will work with the Woady Yaloak Equestrian Centre Committee of Management and regular user groups to develop the masterplan, which will include concept plans detailing the existing facilities and recommended changes to the site.

To help shape the Masterplan, Council is seeking feedback from community members on how they currently utilise the facility, what barriers they may face in accessing it and how it can be enhanced in the future. The Woady Yaloak Equestrian Centre Masterplan survey is open from Thursday 14 April to Wednesday 11 May, 2022.

The survey can be completed at goldenplains.vic.gov.au/consultations or pick up a copy of the survey at Council’s Customer Service Centre, 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale. Completed paper surveys may be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to: Golden Plains Shire Council, PO Box 111, Bannockburn, VIC, 3331, marked ‘Attention: Woady Yaloak Equestrian Centre Masterplan’

Mayor Cr Gavin Gamble encouraged Golden Plains Shire residents to complete the survey and share their ideas for the Masterplan.

The Woady Yaloak Equestrian Centre is a valuable community asset in the north of Golden Plains Shire and the Masterplan will help guide the future planning, development and enhancement of the Centre, ensuring it can grow with the local community.

To ensure the Woady Yaloak Equestrian Centre Masterplan meets the expectations of the community, Council has opened a community survey and we look forward to hearing from residents on the future enhancements they hope to see included in the masterplan.
