The Haddon Community Learning Centre was successful in receiving a Community Strengthening Grant of $4,480 in Round 1 of Council’s Community Strengthening Grants program in 2022.

The grant allowed the centre to run the ‘Blue Collar, White Collar, Hi Vis Healthy Home/Work’ takeaways program, where participants planned, prepared and produced healthy takeaway meals.

The program aimed to improve health, cut down on lunch takeaway costs and support the motivation to live a healthier lifestyle by teaching participants how to make a number of healthy takeaway recipes to take to work.

Council's Community Strengthening Grants Program has been a valuable source of financial support for local events, projects and programs in Golden Plains Shire communities for 26 years. There are two rounds of grants each year, with applications open annually during the months of March and September.
