Golden Plains Shire community members can learn how to attract volunteers for their community groups and activities through the upcoming Growing Your Volunteer Network workshop at the Golden Plains Civic Centre on Tuesday 30 April.

Council and Non Profit Training will present the free workshop which aims to help community groups create strategies for opening their doors wider to potential volunteers. The workshop will examine what barriers may exist to attracting volunteers and how to eliminate these barriers, while also providing tips and tools to create a vibrant and welcoming environment for new volunteers.

Golden Plain Shire Mayor Cr Brett Cunningham said the Growing Your Volunteer Network workshop was a must-attend event for community groups looking to extend their reach through attracting volunteers.

“We know that finding volunteers is tougher than ever before, and this workshop will give you practical tips on how to attract new volunteers to enhance your activities and support the vibrancy, impact and viability of your group,” Cr Cunningham said.

Growing Your Volunteer Network will be held in the Council Chambers at the Golden Plains Civic Centre in Bannockburn on Tuesday 30 April from 6.30 to 8.30pm. Participants can also join the workshop online.
