Grant Writing Workshops for the Community

Grant Writing

Golden Plains Shire Council will be hosting two free community grant writing workshops to assist community members with developing quality project plans and enhancing their chances of preparing successful grant applications.

The workshops will be facilitated by Simon Coutts from Grantus and Council officers who will guide participants on the grant writing process and help community members identify the most suitable grants for their projects.

Golden Plains Shire Mayor Cr Brett Cunningham encouraged interested community members to attend the workshops and learn more about funding opportunities available to them.

“Writing and preparing grant applications can be a daunting process particularly for people or groups doing it for the first time.

“These free grant writing workshops are designed to clearly explain the process and will focus on project planning which is an important part of developing a quality project and ensuring your application has the best chance of success.

“There are many funding opportunities available throughout the year to help local community groups and organisations achieve their project goals and Council is invested in helping people access these important funding opportunities."

The grant writing workshops will also introduce attendees to the Grant Finder system which is designed to find the most suitable grant for individual groups or organisations.

Available workshops include:

  • Bannockburn Cultural Centre on Monday 8 May from 6 – 7.30pm (registration closes 4 May).
  • The Well at Smythesdale on Friday 9 June from 10.30am – 12pm (registration closes 7 June).
