Expressions of Interest (EOI) are open for local Golden Plains foodies and farmers to join the Golden Plains Local Food Network.
Council has partnered with Sustain: The Australian Food Network to establish the Food Network which gives residents opportunities to actively make decisions about their local food system.
This network will consist of an independent group of local food and farming enthusiasts who will work to develop an action plan to support the local agriculture and food industries. The group’s aim will be to improve access to local, sustainable and healthy food for Golden Plains residents.
The Network will be a collaborative platform to discuss local food system issues, understand the strengths and challenges of the local food system, influence policy and support or launch programs, initiatives or services that address local needs.
The Food Network EOI follows community engagement conducted by Council and Sustain: The Australian Food Network which involved a Community Food Survey in January and the Golden Plains Food Forum which was held on Saturday 16 March.
