Golden Plains Shire Council has partnered with Breast Screen Victoria to make it easier for locals to access breast screen services.

Council will host a free event for local women aged between 50 and 74 to have their regular mammogram screening at Ballarat Breast Screen clinic.

Women are invited to register for the event, which in addition to a breast screen mammogram appointment will include transport from Bannockburn and Smythesdale into Ballarat, refreshments and social wellness activities hosted by Council staff while waiting for the appointment.

The event into the Ballarat Breast Screen Clinic will be held on Thursday 24 March, from 10.30am to 12pm. Participants will be picked up and dropped off at the Bannockburn Heart, 11 Milton St, Bannockburn and The Well, 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale.

Due to the availability of mammogram appoints, places are limited to 14, with registrations closing at 5pm, Monday 7 March.

To register, community members can click here or call Council’s Health, Wellbeing and Youth team at 5220 7111.
