Russells Bridge

Work to repair sections of Parkers Road in Russells Bridge is progressing well with the installation of a new reinforced concrete deck.

Work began in early October with the removal of portions of the existing pavement which revealed the original bluestone pitchers underneath. The new deck consists of 200mm thick 40 MPa reinforced concrete with steel rods tied into the existing structure. This will better protect the ford from future floods and the approaches have been integrated into the new ford surface.

The road was badly damaged by flooding in November 2022, and the latest work will ensure the long -term sustainability of the road.

Council has also progressed repairs to Nesters Road in Corindhap, with backfilling of the eroded section of the ford and approach roads now complete.

Thank you to residents and motorists for your patience as Council completes this important work.
