Golden Plains Shire Council will have altered hours and changes to waste collection services during the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
Customer Experience
Council's Customer Hub at 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale will close at 5pm, Thursday 21 December. The Customer Experience Team will be available by phone and in-person at the Customer Hub at 2 Pope Street, Bannockburn on Friday 22 December until 12pm before closing for the holiday period.
Customer Hubs will reopen at 8.30am, Tuesday 2 January 2024.
Essential services will be available in this period. If you need urgent assistance, please call 5220 7111 and follow the prompts.
Early Years Services
Council's Kindergarten and Occasional Care Services in Bannockburn, Teesdale, Rokewood, lnverleigh and Meredith will close for the holiday period from 5pm, Wednesday 20 December 2023 and programs will recommence from Tuesday 31 January 2024.
The Bannockburn Family Services Centre reception and Maternal and Child Health consultations will close at midday, and Kardinia Early Learning from 4pm, on Friday 22 December 2023.
The Bannockburn Family Services Centre will re-open for normal operational hours from 8.30am, Tuesday 2 January 2024 and Kardinia Early Learning will re-open at 6.30am, Wednesday 3 January 2024.
Family Day Care Services will all be closed from Friday 22 December 2023 to Tuesday 2 January 2024.
Maternal and Child Health Services
Maternal and Child Health Service groups and consultants from all facilities will close from midday, Friday 22 December 2023 and will return to regular bookings from 31 January 2024.
Maternal and Child Health appointments including new birth home visits will commence from 2 January 2024 with consultation from Bannockburn and Smythesdale only during this period. Please call 5220 7230 for appointments or enquiries.
For urgent Maternal and Child Health queries: In an emergency, please call 000. Maternal and Child Health Line is an after-hours 24/7 service staffed by qualified Maternal and Child Health nurses call 13 22 29.
Rubbish and Recycle Collection
From Monday 25 December, all collections will be completed one day later than usual.

Rokewood Transfer Station
The Rokewood Resource Recovery Centre will be closed on Sunday 24 December 2023. It will re-open on Sunday 31 December 2023 from 10am to 3pm.
